Thank you for visiting the TunaHAKI Foundation website.
TunaHAKI Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization which empowers orphans and vulnerable street children in Africa to become self-reliant, thus ensuring basic human needs, including food, clothing, shelter, education, medical care, and the right to a secure future.
We are currently partnered with the TunaHAKI Centre for Child Development, an arts-based shelter for AIDS orphans and street kids in Moshi, Kilimanjaro region, Tanzania. TunaHAKI is Swahili for ‘We have a RIGHT’, and it is a phrase that the street children of Moshi came up with themselves as they set about to find a better life. We agree with them, and we have adopted it as the name of our Foundation.

No one at TunaHAKI takes a salary. We do not spend any money on fundraising or administration expenses. Every dollar we get goes to Africa where we are making a difference.

"When I arrived in the small village in Tanzania, I was greeted by
nothing but smiles and fascinated faces. These kids were the fastest
friends I have ever made."
